Student Services Now Offers Mom’s Support Group

The goal of the group is to provide a space for student moms or spouses/partners of Logan students to dialogue about motherhood, and provide support to one another along the journey. Topics will include, time management, balancing the obligations of motherhood, and making time for you. 

 

The new Mom’s Support Group will be led by Jameca Falconer, PhD, Logan’s Counseling Psychologist, and will meet on Monday October 20, at 11:15 a.m. in room 149. Additional meeting dates will be discussed at this meeting.

Wellness Center News Fall 2013

Fall Trimester Hours of Operation

Monday – Thursday: 5:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
Friday: 5:30 a.m.–6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12 p.m.–3 p.m.

Hours are subject to change depending on student user numbers and student-workers availability.

Work-Study

The Wellness Center is looking for students who are work-study eligible to cover hours in the morning and at lunch. Hours are flexible. Please stop by the Wellness Center for more detail.

Intramural Co-Rec Sand Volleyball and Flag-Football

Registration begins Tuesday, September 10, and ends at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 16. Games will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Tentative start date is September 17. Game times are TBD. Contact your class AD for more info.

Chiro Games

The Chiro Games have become an annual tradition at Logan, ranking as one of the athletic and social highlights of the academic year. This year, the Games will return to Cocoa Beach, Fla., on November 1–4 for a weekend of fun and competition. If you are interested in participating in any of the organized activities, contact the Team Captain (through Logan email) for more info.

Jewish Community Center Open Enrollment

The JCC will be on campus September 25 at Club Day to offer membership registration. The J will return on September 26 and 27 in the cafeteria during the 11 a.m.-1 p.m. lunch hours.

Students, Cardinals tickets are on sale for the Cubs game on September 27. Tickets can be purchased in the SDC office.



Research Study Participants Needed

Dr. Alicia M. Yochum is recruiting 25 participants for her research study investigating the relationship of altered biomechanics (pronation) to bone marrow edema and pain in the joints of the lower extremity, the sacroiliac joints and the joints of the lower lumbar spine.


Students will receive $100 for their time, extra credit in various classes and two educational DVDs at the completion of the study. A sign-up sheet is available in the Department of Radiology, and the first 12 females and 13 males to qualify will be included in the study. You must be between 20-30 years old, have a normal BMI and be willing to restrict running to 10 miles/week. This study will last a total of six weeks (four weeks in pronation and two weeks for follow up)
